* - CDNV started as Septemvri pri CDV. At the winter brake Septemvri was
formed again and split from the team to be entered into the MFD, while
the army club was renamed CDNV - 'Tsentralen dom na narodnata voyska'
(Central club of the people's army).
  - Botev pri DNV started as TVP (Ticha-Vladislav-Primorets). Shortly
after the start of the season the club was renamed Botev pri DNV (see
above for meaning of DNV).
  - Slavia (Plovdiv) started as Slavia-Chengelov. At the winter brake
the club was renamed Slavia.
  - the city of Dupnitsa was renamed Marek in the summer of 1949.
  - Benkovski started as Benkovski-Sportist. Shortly afterwards the
club was renamed Benkovski.
  - Botev started as Lyubislav (Burgas). At the winter brake the team
merged with Udarnik (Burgas) to form Botev (Burgas).

La liga está administrada por la Unión de Fútbol de Bulgaria.
